GIRAFE RATING

GIRAFE Ratings are our core product. They target mature MFIs that wish to obtain new financing, to have a comprehensive assessment of their risk profile and to enhance their international visibility. GIRAFE Ratings are an evaluation and rating of the financial and institutional strength of an MFI. The outcomes of a GIRAFE rating are: the rating report and a debriefing session with the institution, and potentially the funders of the mission.

The Rating Fund offers a partial co-financing for microfinance rating and evaluation services. The first rating may be co-financed up to 80% or a maximum of 8,000 USD/10,000 USD depending on the region. Update ratings are co-financed on a declining basis. In 2007, the Rating Fund will stop its activities:
It should continue co-financing ratings in Sub-Saharan Africa until the end of 2007.
It still benefits from some resources in Eastern Europe, in Asia and in the MENA region.
It does not operate in Latin America any more.
Planet Rating is approved by this fund. The evaluation mission of your institution is therefore eligible for this co-financing.
