Governance

Planet Rating is a « Société par Actions Simplifiée » (Simplified Shares Company) incorporated in France. Our governance structure includes three levels :

General Assembly : the shareholders of Planet Rating meet in the General Assembly every year. The current shareholders are : PlaNet Finance with 54.2% of shares, COFACE (export guarantees, receivables management), the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (public assets managers) and Viel and Cie (the largest broker at the Paris Stock Exchange) with 13.6% each, and LMSR ("Luxembourg for Microfinance & Social Responsability", a non profit organization of social funds) with 5%.

The Supervisory Board includes some of Planet Rating's shareholders. It defines the strategy of Planet Rating and is led by Jacques Attali, Former Adviser to François Mitterrand. It meets quarterly.

The Management team is in charge of the implementation of the strategy and the general management of the organization. The members of the management team are Emmanuelle Javoy, Managing Director, Otto Wormgoor, Operations Manager, and Nadine Chehade, Business Development Manager.

The Rating Committee is the final decision-maker concerning the rating given to the MFIs evaluated by Planet Rating. It includes at least one member of the Management team and the analysts that visited the rated institution. All Rating Committees are held in Paris Headquarters and go through a rigorous quality control process.
