Our Team

Planet Rating’s multilingual team (French, English, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic) is made up of more than fifteen permanent analysts, based in Paris and in our local offices in Senegal, Peru, Kenya, Lebanon and the Philippines. The team is supported by the Supervisory Board headed by Jacques Attali, former adviser to François Mitterrand, and of which COFACE is a member.

Emmanuelle Javoy
Managing Director
Emmanuelle Javoy became Managing Director of Planet Rating in February 2008 after joining the Planet Rating team in May 2003 as Senior Analyst and subsequently Technical & Quality Director. She has already carried out more than forty missions, in Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Asia. She has revised Planet Rating’s analytical tools and is in charge of the training process for new analysts. Her focus since 2004 has been on the development of new rating services such as “diagnostic” missions for Smaller Moroccan MFIs, “diagnostic” mission for CFPA in China, social performance evaluation based on the tool by “CERISE”, rating methodology for French MFIs that include social performance indicators. She participates in the sector’s efforts for the standardization of financial terms by representing Planet Rating in the African Forum for Evaluation. Before joining Planet Rating, Emmanuelle worked as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. She graduated from Ecole Superieur de Commerce de Paris.

Otto Wormgoor
Operations Manager
Otto Wormgoor joined Planet Rating in November 2006 and became the Operations Manager in June 2008. Prior to this Otto was the Office Director for East & Southern Africa based in Kampala, Uganda. Otto has conducted over 20 rating missions in Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia. Before joining Planet Rating he worked for ICCO, one of the four main co-financing agencies in the Netherlands, where he was responsible for the microfinance program of ICCO in the Philippines. Otto Wormgoor holds an M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering (cum laude) from the University of Twente, Netherlands and a Masters in Advanced Development Studies from the Centre for International Development Issues Nijmegen, Netherlands. In 2005 he participated in the Boulder Microfinance Training Program, hosted by ILO in Turin, Italy.

Nadine Chehade;
Business Development Manager
Nadine Chehade joined the Planet Rating team in May 2006 to head the Beirut office from where she covered the MENA and Caucasus regions. Starting 2009, she became in charge of overseeing the development process of new products and services offered by Planet Rating worldwide. Nadine has conducted over 30 missions in MENA, Eastern Europe, Central and East Asia, as well as East and West Africa. She started her career in Investment Banking with ABN Amro, before working as a strategy and management consultant for 4 years, conducting projects for various industries and clients, first with Accenture and then with Kea&Partners, a company spun off CapGemeni. In 2005, she worked as a consultant for ILDES, a Lebanese NGO with a microfinance program. Nadine is fluent in Arabic, English and French, and holds an MBA from Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales (ESSEC).

Ramon Flores
Latin America Office Director
Ramon joined Planet Rating in June 2006 as Senior Analyst. Prior to Planet Rating, he worked as Senior Analyst in the Risk Department of Interbank– Peru’s fourth largest bank. Ramon has nine years of risk analysis experience in corporate banking and commercial banking with microfinance institutions and, medium-size enterprises. Ramón has conducted rating missions in many countries in Central and South America since joining Planet Rating.
Ramon received a BA from the Universidad del Pacifico (Lima, Peru), and a MBA from Instituto de Empresa (Madrid, Spain).

El Hadji Diop
West & Central Africa Office Director
El Hadji started on October 2005. He was an External Auditor for Ernst & Young (Dakar office) for the banking, oil and industrial sectors. El Hadji masters financial and audit analysis techniques and has participated in more than 30 ratings in Asia, Europe and mostly in Africa. He is a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and has been involved in development projects in Senegal.

James Soukamneuth, Ph.D.
Asia Office Director
James joined Planet Rating in November 2008 after two years as a credit analyst at Moody’s Investors Service, where he examined a variety of asset classes, such as CDO – derivatives, Public/Private partnership deals, infrastructure transactions, and project financing. Spanning the public and private sectors, his broad work experience extends from West Africa, Southeast Asia, to North America. James started his career in information technology before serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Savé, Benin (1997-1999). Thereafter, he has worked for non-profit organizations, consulted with aid agencies, and conducted research in developing countries. He is fluent in English and conversant in French, Thai, and Lao. James holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (1996), a Master’s Degree (2003) in Development Planning, and Doctor of Philosophy (2006) in Political Economy of International Development, all from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
